After Barcelona were banned from making transfers in the next two windows, reports in Hungary suggest that teenage midfielder Matyas Tajti is now likely to join Real Madrid from Puskas Academy. Tajti was invited for a week-long trial by Real at the end of January after a string of eye-catching performances but had also been on the radar of Barca.

38 year old Erik Hagen admitted to the Norwegen newspaper Verdens Gang that he and his team mates at Zenith Petersburg bribed a referee. Each player apparently payed the referee 2200 USD. This incident took place in Oktober 2005 when Zenith played against Vitoria Guimaraes.

Sunderland's new sporting director Lee Congerton has stated that he will be turning the club's transfer policy back towards buying British players. Congerton arrived at the Stadium of Light last month, taking over from Italian Roberto de Fanti, who had brought in almost exclusively foreign players to the club.

New Southampton director Hans Hofstetter says the club's board has inherited a "difficult financial situation". Hofstetter spoke as the Saints posted a net loss of £7.1m in their annual results for the year ending 30 June 2013. The Saints will enter the summer transfer window owing £27m in outstanding transfer fees. "It is a burden that has to be covered and will be covered," Hofstetter tells BBC Radio Solent.
