Thomas studied Dutch Private Law at the University of Amsterdam. He there wrote a thesis regarding the desirability of a specific Sports Law in the Netherlands, reviewing the Italian Sports Law system and its Law n. 91 of 1981, and researching whether the Italian Sports Law system could provide solutions for Dutch sports-related problems. His thesis has later been published in the International Sports Law Journal (issue 2010, 3-4).

Thomas works as a lawyer at Brantjes Advocaten in Amsterdam (www.brantjesadvocaten.nl). He focuses and specializes in advising both national and international clients, and litigating in the following fields of law:

Sports law, Football Law, Arbitration, Commercial Contracts, Corporate Law, International Private Law.

In the field of Sports and Football law Thomas regularly litigates before the judicial bodies of the Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB), FIFA and CAS.
