Should an agent be paid or not by his client in the event that he has not been involved in negotiations. FIFPRO states in a recent comment on a not so spectacular award by a dutch arbiter 'in case the parties would have agreed on a compensation clause and the agent was not involved in negotiations, this would undoubtedly mean that such clause must be considered invalid as this would be absolutely unreasonable.' This opinion is however not shared by many agents and more important the Players Status Committee and the CAS.
