He is also an Australian under-20 and under-23 representative. Golec first broke into the Sydney FC first team as a teenager and made over 100 A-League appearances at Adelaide United, Perth Glory, Western Sydney Wanderers Central Coast Mariners and Wellington Phoenix. After time in Iran and Korea, he played a key role in Sheriff Tiraspol’s 2016 league title.
